Sept 29/30 2011 startrail. This wonderful image was featured in the Leicester Mercury on Wed 5th October - http://bit.ly/nheQlM The autumnal heatwave & clear skies continues. A nice combination of a 9hr startrail set against the Gilmorton wind farm with the 0510 hrs ISS flyby just above the turbine. This is how I setup the shot. Olympus E5 with 8mm fisheye on tripod overlooking the wind farm. Camera M mode with shutter speed set at 15s and aperture wide open at F3.5. Using a remote trigger I set the camera to shoot continuous all night from 2030hrs until 0530hrs in the morning. This included for the 0510hrs ISS flyby. I woke early & retrieved camera (yawn yawn). Once back home I imported the 2000 images into Mac and stacked with StarStax software. Removed a few plane trails and the final composite is what you see :-)
Sept 28/29 2011 startrail. Longer nights and a rare autumnal heatwave give way to clear skies. Perfect opportunity for the all night startrail. Set up the camera approx 8.30pm and left it capturing sequentially all night. Exposures at 15s ISO 640 F3.5 captured with Olympus E5 & 8mm fisheye. Composed over my barn and almost looks 3D :-)
Sept 29 2011 ISS pass from 0607hrs flyby. Approx dozen exposures combined & captured with Olympus E5 & 8mm fisheye.
