June 03_04 2011. I was on Noctilucent watch tonight and setup the all night camera shoot pointing N/NW with a view to catching an early am show. Unfortunately I dropped a bit of booby and put the wrong batteries in. They only lasted until 0100hrs, which was mighty frustrating when I picked up the sopping wet camera from the field at 0600hrs. Missed the dawn NLC show and ended up with a few hrs startrail. Oh well, c'est la vie. Captured with Olympus E5 & 7-14mm - F4, ISO 500, 15s exposure time shot continuous. I needed the dew shield too!
June 02_03 2011. The nights are getting shorter, which means less time and frames to capture the summer startrails. This one comprised approx 800 images each @15s and stacked. Couple of meteors at 9 o'clock too. Foreground lit/painted with 2 No flash guns (FL36). Captured with Olympus E5 & 7-14mm.
May 31 2011. 0405hrs. Space Shuttle Endeavour makes a dawn double flyby pass (ISS) over UK skies prior to landing tomorrow. The only time Endeavour was visible in UK skies, so a rare capture no doubt. Made extremely difficult to capture on camera with a wide angle lens due to ambient sunrise light. Captured with Olympus E3, 12-60mm SWD.
