1. Night Sky

Sky at Night

Look into the night sky and you look back in time. The sky at night is a vastness beyond comprehension, full of celestial objects like galaxies, stars, planets and the Moon. Gaze into a clear night sky and you get drawn into another world, a world as it was in the past. In this collection I am sharing my favourite night sky images and collections. All have been photographed in a natural environment and are real images. Many of my images tell a story, whether the subject matter or process of composition.
All photos captured with OM System.

May 09 2010. Startrail from a south/south east facing night sky. Bonus of 3 meteors from the Aquariids shower. Captured with Olympus E3, 12-60mm SWD lens. 15s exposures from 2200hrs on 9th through 0600hrs on 10th. Images stacked to produce the startrail.
May 6 2010. British voters hit the polling stations, as does the ISS. The Polling Station in Walcote, Lutterworth, Leics had an visitor from outer space! The International Space Station (ISS) flew in to cast its vote, just at the right time. Quite a lucky capture to get it all coming together at the right time plus clear skies! The ISS is mega bright in the skies atm. It is the biggest, brightest object orbiting earth and only the sun and moon are brighter objects. It is as wide as a football field. Captured with Olympus E3 8mm lens.
