June 30/July 01 2011. I think this is my best fisheye startrail to date. Worked out great with polaris bang in the middle. I gave the image more natural composition by offsetting the tree as the foreground subject, lit with few flash bursts. Just see the horizon noctilucent making an appearance too bottom right. Captured with Oly E5 & 8mm fisheye. Approx 1000 exposures at 15s, ISO 500, F3.5 stacked with startrails software.
June 28_29 2011. Summer startrail with noctilucent. Clear skies following the passage of a cold front set up for a good night of star trailing and potential to catch noctilucent. I was lucky as the NLC's came out to dance approx 0300hrs just before daybreak, as seen her in the bottom right of the startrail. Foreground lit with flash bursts. Approx 800 exposures total for this one shot. Captured with Oly E5 & 7-14mm. 15s exposures, ISO 400, F4 shot continuous through night. Final stacked composite produced with startrails software.
June 26_27 2011. Summer startrail. Not many dark hours available in these long summer days, but even with a few hours of exposures (2300-0300hrs) the effects can still be stunning. This startrail framed around a nice foreground tree and lit painted with a few flash bursts during first few exposures. Approx 800 exposures total for this one shot. Captured with Oly E5 & 7-14mm. 15s exposures, ISO 500, F4 shot continuous through night. Final stacked composite produced with startrails software.
