June 30/July 01 2011. Not only did this memorable clear sky evening produce a stunning star trail but also a bright meteor brushing past the Ursa Major (The Plough/Big Dipper) constellation. Bear in mind this is captured with a 8mm fisheye lens which ordinarily would produce a dim scratch for the average meteor. This was super bright. Bring on the August Perseids :-)
July 24/25th 2011. Close up star trail using the 12-60mm SWD lens. 15s exposures (approx 900) F2.8 ISO 300 and stacked. Great for detail :-) Captured with Oly E3. Boy is it noisy when compared to the E5 even at low ISO.
July 15 2011. Nice bright early morning iridium flare (0320hrs) brushing past Ursa Major (The Plough). Captured with Oly E5 7-14mm. Foreground floodlit with flash bursts.
