18 May 2014. Sun passage over Leicestershire skies during the 9 hr period between 1130hrs and sunset (2030hrs). What you are looking at is a composite image of the sun as depicted by Earth's rotation, with images captured throughout the entire period. Captured with Olympus E5 & 8mm fisheye.

How did I capture this? - I set up camera on tripod and calculated where the Sun would rise and set in respect of my composition (note the fence line leading the eye to the final sunset). Using an external time lapse controller (set to snap away every 60s) I commenced at 1130hrs through till sunset, approx 2030hrs. To create the starburst effect I set the aperture to a high F22, ISO 200 and let the camera snap away continuous. Once complete I imported all images into MAC and brought together all of the Suns, separated by 40min interval, within StarStax software.  The final composite is shows the effect of Earth's rotation through the sun :-)
