Red Kite 3
Captured on 26th June 2020 whilst on a local walk with dog. Red Kites are beautiful birds and we are lucky to have lots of them resident around here in Sth Leics. They soar on the thermals and winds circling, rising and diving and make great camera subjects.
I can sometimes walk the dog and see very few, other times they are everywhere. We also have lots of buzzards around here too and they are quite difficult to tell apart as they are do look similar from certain angles.
The Red kite is a large bird of prey with angled, red wings that are tipped with black and have white patches underneath in the 'hand'. It has a long, reddish-brown, forked tail.
Captured with Olympus OM-D, EM-1 (mk3), 300mm lens hand held.
f4, 1/2500s, ISO 200 shot in pro-capture (low) mode with focus tracking.
