markhumpage > Star trail from 24 May 2009. Another clear night so best take opportunity while have it. Approx 1000 image captured from sunset on 24th to sunrise on 25th.
markhumpage > Startrail from May 23 2009. getting very close to full summer here with longest day not far away. Not good for long dark hours. Sun goes down about 10pm and getting light not much after 3am so only 4/5 hours of combined exposures. Over 1000 15s exposures using the Olympus E3 with 7-14mm lens, which really works best I have found for startrails, and put through startrails.de software.
markhumpage > Warm weather startrails captured over the sth leicestershire countryside at the home of photographer Mark Humpage on the evening of April 20th 2009. Over 1600 images were captured, 15s length exposure time taken sequentially from sunset on Mon 20th all way through till sunrise on Tues 21st. Nearly 7 hours of images were then imported into a PC and layered in software to produce a single image. The startrail effect is a visible result of the earth's movement in the 7 hour period. Taken with Olympus E3, 7-14mm lens
markhumpage > This Startrail was captured using my 2nd camera on March 29th 2009 in my backyard, Leics at the same time as the landscape image previous. For the first time in a long time clear skies were forecast all night. I set my Olympus E3 camera with 7-14mm wide angle lens and left it running all night. 15s exposures on continuous shoot. Nearly 1500 images stacked and placed on a single layer in Startrails.de software. Probably one of the most impressive duration startrails I have attempted. 6 1/2 hours of slpendid earth rotation effected by the startrail.

Rigged up the extension lead to provide continuous power and left it running all night. 15s exposures on continuous shoot. Nearly 1500 images stacked and placed on a single layer in Startrails.de software. Probably one of the most impressive duration startrails I have attempted. 6 1/2 hours of slpendid earth rotation effected by the startrail.
