A selection of weather images from my tiny island. Wild and calm, wet and dry and most definitely extreme in one way shape or form.
EDIT - the occasional Euro location may also be thrown in this gallery too ;-)

May 13 2011. Some great storm clouds rolling across parts of the Midlands. The Olympus E5 dramatic tone art filter really exacerbates the mood. I must admit to becoming quite addicted to this in-built filter. E5 with 12-60mm SWD.
May 13 2011. Some great storm clouds rolling across parts of the Midlands. Nice panorama over the Gilmorton windfarm. E5 with 12-60mm SWD.
May 13 2011. Some great storm clouds rolling across parts of the Midlands. The Olympus E5 dramatic tone art filter really exacerbates the mood. Back over to the Gilmorton windfarm :-) I want to be the first person to capture a lightning bolt blasting the turbines. One day! E5 with 12-60mm SWD.
May 10 2011. Wonderful dark wild skies set against a nice rape oil crop. The turbulent deck of stratocumulus cloud contains elements of a 'Whales Mouth' effect. This is caused by cooler air sinking from an adjacent precipitation storm/cell rolling along in the lower levels and undercutting warmer air thus pushing it aloft. The combination of sinking and rising of different airmass densities creates this effect. Wild and beautiful. Captured with Olympus E5 & 12-60mm SWD.

May 8 2011. Jellyfish clouds descend over the UK. These amazing clouds (Altocumulus Castellanus with trailing virga) made a rare appearance this evening. Only once in the past 10yrs have I seen such a wonderful display. A rare creature in this size and abundance. The amazing resemblance to jellyfish is caused by precipitation falling from the parent cloud and evaporating before reaching the ground. Truly spectacular. Captured with Olympus E3 & 12-60mm SWD.
